The Dixie Bee-Liner’s, of Abington, Virginia releases a new CD, RIPE, in the Spring of 2008. The lead cut, called “Down on the Crooked Road”, pays homage to Virginia’s Crooked Road. This release, on the Pinecastle Label, is much anticipated. The Beeliner’s, originally from NY, relocated two years ago to SW Virginia to be a part of Virginia’s Music Heritage Trail.

In 2007, the band's music was featured on the soundtrack of the Civil War film Freedom. The Bee-Liners also recently completed work on their sophomore CD, Ripe, with legendary Grammy-winning producer Bill VornDick (Alison Krauss, Ralph Stanley, Bob Dylan, Jim Lauderdale, James Taylor). The album will include guest appearances from DBL alumnus Andy Falco (Infamous Stringdusters), Mark Fain and Andy Leftwich (Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder), ex-Grascal David Talbot, and dobro player Travis Toy from Rascal Flatts.

WELCOME MESSAGE

In September 2006, VaBluegrass.com found its voice with the first broadcast of the Ole Dominion Jamboree.

In one short year, the Ole Dominion Jamboree has grown from one radio station to four and can be heard in metro Richmond, up Virginia’s New River Valley and into the Mountain State of West Virginia. You can also listen from around the world through the three audio streams available.

The Ole Dominion Jamboree is hosted by Slim Jim Ellis and his Sidekick. It was Slim Jim’s goal to return to classic radio with good music, call-in’s and down home humor. In addition to the best Bluegrass Music, you will hear the comedy of Archie Campbell, Wendy Bagwell, Jerry Clower, Minnie Pearl, and others, as well as, stories from Sidekick’s Cousin Warren.

Join Slim Jim and Sidekick in the fun as the Ole Dominion Jamboree radio show plays the Legends of Bluegrass and the Stars of Today™ from Around the World.

Want To Hear the Old Dominion Jamboree on a Station near You?
We are looking for other AM or FM stations for syndication. If you or someone you know would like a promo of the show to consider please email us at vabanjo@vabluegrass.com. This is old time radio with DJ's, great bluegrass music and down home humor. The Bluegrass Journal referred to Slim Jim and Sidekick as the Click and Clack Tappet Brothers of Bluegrass!
